Blockchain development in Spain, from idea to production

We turn your use case into a product you can launch, operate and grow. From A Coruña, the same team designs the architecture, writes the contracts and integrates them with your systems.

Tell us what you want to build
  1. The Spanish framework, from the architecture

Before choosing a network we decide whether the token is a MiCA crypto-asset or a security represented on DLT. That distinction changes the register, the permissions and who supervises the product.

  2. Smart contracts ready for review

We build your business logic with tests and peer review. The code is prepared for an independent audit and a progressive deployment before going into production.

  3. In your language and time zone

You work in Spanish and in your time zone with the people who design and write the code, with no sales layer in between and no part of the build subcontracted.

  4. A foundation you can keep building on

We document the code and plan deployments and monitoring. Your team gets a technical foundation for maintaining the product and adding new capabilities.

Blockchain regulatory framework in Spain

Technical design starts with the type of asset: MiCA for crypto-assets within its scope and MiFID II for tokenized financial instruments. In Spain, the CNMV and the Bank of Spain have different responsibilities depending on the activity and token. Securities represented on DLT also require consideration of the ERIR, the entity responsible for registration and record-keeping.

  1. DLT securities and the ERIR role in Spanish law

Law 6/2023 generally takes effect. Articles 6 and 8 address transferable securities represented using DLT and the entity responsible for administering their registration and record-keeping, known as an ERIR.

  2. Ursus-3: first entity enabled to act as an ERIR

Ursus-3 Capital dates its authorisation to provide custody and administration of DLT securities, enabling it to act as Spain’s first ERIR, to this day. The entity’s eligibility precedes its registration as ERIR for a particular issuance.

  3. CNMV announces the first DLT trading and settlement system

The CNMV announces Securitize’s authorisation as the first DLT trading and settlement system authorised by the Spanish supervisor. It combines trading and settlement of financial instruments under the EU pilot regime; this is not a CASP licence.

  4. End of operations under the transitional regime

The former Bank of Spain registration ceases to provide a sufficient basis for continuing services subject to MiCA.

Security

Security in blockchain development in Spain

Every delivery goes through the same checklist before it reaches mainnet. What changes between projects is the depth of each control, because an MVP does not carry the same risk as a contract that holds third-party funds.

Before mainnet

  • Roles and permissions defined for every critical function
  • Unit and invariant tests, and fuzzing on the logic that moves value
  • Static analysis and peer review of every change
  • Multisig and timelock on administration when the risk justifies it
  • Custody and rotation of the deployment keys agreed
  • External audit when the value at risk requires it

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about blockchain development in Spain

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Which regulations apply to a blockchain project in Spain?

MiCA governs crypto-asset issuance and services, supervised by the CNMV and the Bank of Spain; providing services on them requires CASP authorisation. Depending on the case, AML obligations also apply and, if the token qualifies as a financial instrument, MiFID II. We analyse the fit of your case before writing a single line of code.

  2. Do you work with both startups and established companies?

Yes. We support startups from MVP validation to fundraising, and established companies (banking, insurance, energy, real estate) on tokenization, traceability and digital identity projects with strict compliance requirements. Smart contracts go through tests and review before mainnet in every case.

  3. Do you work with companies in any Spanish province?

Yes. From our headquarters in A Coruña, we develop projects for companies across Spain. We work remotely, with direct communication with the people who design and build the product. Shared documentation, decision meetings and a stable technical channel keep the work aligned from discovery through production.

  4. How long does blockchain development take?

Timing depends on product complexity, integrations and the level of review required. Before development, we define scope, dependencies and phase deliverables. That lets you decide what reaches production first and what belongs in a second iteration, without treating an MVP as if it were a complete production architecture.

  5. Which blockchain network is right for my project?

We do not choose a network because it is trending. For EVM projects, we assess Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or Base against finality, costs, tooling, interoperability, custody and compliance needs. We also consider non-EVM networks when they fit better. The recommendation covers contracts, indexing, wallets and operations and follows the product requirements and its users.
