We are your blockchain development company in Portugal

We build blockchain products for companies in Portugal with our in-house team, designing each project around MiCA and the way supervision is split between Banco de Portugal and the CMVM.

Blockchain development in Portugal, from idea to production

We take your use case to a product you can launch, operate and extend. One team designs the architecture, writes the contracts and connects them to your systems.

Tell us what you want to build
  1. The Portuguese framework, from the architecture

We separate how the token is classified from the permission held by whoever provides the service. Banco de Portugal handles CASP authorisation and the CMVM reviews conduct and client protection, which shapes custody, permissions and records.

  2. Contracts ready for an audit

We write your business logic with tests and peer review. Every contract is documented and prepared for an external audit, then deployed in stages before it runs in production.

  3. In English or Spanish, on your schedule

You work in English, or in Spanish if your team prefers, directly with the people who design and write the code. Meetings fit your working day, and the rest is followed through shared documentation and a stable technical channel.

  4. A foundation built to grow

We hand over documented code with deployments and monitoring planned. Your team gets a technical foundation for maintaining the product and adding new features.

Blockchain regulatory framework in Portugal

In Portugal, MiCA applies directly and Law 69/2025 divides supervision: Banco de Portugal receives CASP authorisation applications and has powers over ART and EMT tokens, while the CMVM covers offers of other crypto-assets, market abuse and conduct. A token that qualifies as a financial instrument falls outside MiCA and is assessed under securities rules. Since 1 July 2026, the former virtual asset registration no longer stands in for MiCA authorisation.

Security

Security in blockchain development in Portugal

Every delivery goes through the same checklist before it reaches mainnet. What changes between projects is the depth of each control, because an MVP does not carry the same risk as a contract that holds third-party funds.

Before mainnet

  • Roles and permissions defined for every critical function
  • Unit and invariant tests, and fuzzing on the logic that moves value
  • Static analysis and peer review of every change
  • Multisig and timelock on administration when the risk justifies it
  • Custody and rotation of the deployment keys agreed
  • External audit when the value at risk requires it

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about blockchain development in Portugal

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Which regulations apply to a blockchain project in Portugal?

MiCA governs crypto-asset issuance and services, and Law 69/2025 sets out how Banco de Portugal and the CMVM take part. Providing those services requires CASP authorisation or, for certain financial entities, the Article 60 MiCA notification. AML obligations updated by Law 70/2025 also apply and, if the token is a financial instrument, so do securities rules. We analyse the fit of your case before writing any code.

  2. Do you work with both startups and established companies?

Yes. With startups we work from MVP validation to a product ready to show in a funding round; with established companies, on tokenization, traceability and digital identity projects with demanding compliance requirements. Either way, smart contracts go through tests and review before they reach mainnet.

  3. How do you work with Portuguese companies?

In English or Spanish, in direct contact with the people who design and build the product. Meetings adapt to your working day. Shared documentation, written decisions and a stable technical channel keep the work organised.

  4. How long does blockchain development take?

It depends on product complexity, how many systems need integrating and the level of review required. Before development we set the scope, dependencies and deliverables of each phase, so you can decide what reaches production first and what waits for a second iteration. From the start, the plan separates an MVP from a complete architecture.

  5. Which blockchain network is right for my project?

The one your product requirements call for, not the one in fashion. For EVM projects we compare Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or Base on finality, costs, tooling, interoperability, custody and compliance, and we consider non-EVM networks when they fit better. The recommendation covers contracts, indexing, wallets and operations, and takes into account who the product is for.
