We are your blockchain development company in Japan

We build blockchain products for companies in Japan with our in-house team, starting from how the Japanese framework separates crypto-assets, electronic payment instruments and tokenized securities.

Blockchain development in Japan, from idea to production

We turn your use case into a product that can be launched, operated and extended. A single team designs the architecture, writes the contracts and integrates them with your systems.

Tell us what you want to build
  1. The Japanese framework, from the architecture

Before choosing a network we classify the right the token carries: crypto-asset, electronic payment instrument or FIEA security. Each category has its own registrations and changes who issues, who holds custody and who intermediates.

  2. Smart contracts ready for review

We build your business logic with tests and peer review, and prepare the code for an external audit and a gradual deployment before it reaches production.

  3. In English, with meetings in your working hours

You work in English with the people who design and write the code. Meetings are agreed within your working hours, and the rest moves forward in writing, through shared documentation and a stable technical channel.

  4. A foundation that can keep evolving

We document the code and plan deployments and monitoring, so your team can maintain the product and add features on a foundation it understands.

Use cases

Blockchain use cases in Japan

Japan already identifies every head of cattle, certifies carbon credits and trades tokenized securities; these cases build on that.

    Tokenized real estate trusts

Tokens representing beneficial interests in a real estate trust, like the Dormy Inn Kobe Motomachi hotel token, traded on ODX's START since December 2023.

    Wagyu traceability

Since 2003, every head of cattle wears an ear tag with its individual identification number, which follows the beef to sale; the record builds on that number.

Blockchain regulatory framework in Japan

Japan regulates by right and by function: crypto-assets fall under the Payment Services Act, electronic payment instruments, the category for stablecoins, have their own regime, and tokenized securities are governed by the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA). The FSA and the regional finance bureaus handle registrations. The reform promulgated on 23 July 2026 moves crypto-assets under the FIEA, but its main provisions take effect by cabinet order within one year of promulgation.

Security

Security in blockchain development in Japan

Every delivery goes through the same checklist before it reaches mainnet. What changes between projects is the depth of each control, because an MVP does not carry the same risk as a contract that holds third-party funds.

Before mainnet

  • Roles and permissions defined for every critical function
  • Unit and invariant tests, and fuzzing on the logic that moves value
  • Static analysis and peer review of every change
  • Multisig and timelock on administration when the risk justifies it
  • Custody and rotation of the deployment keys agreed
  • External audit when the value at risk requires it

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about blockchain development in Japan

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Which regulations apply to a blockchain project in Japan?

It depends on the right the token represents and on each company's role. Crypto-asset exchange and custody require registration under the Payment Services Act; issuing or distributing electronic payment instruments has its own regime, and tokenized investment rights are assessed under the FIEA, with Type I or Type II registration depending on the activity. Transfers between providers may fall under the travel rule. We analyse the fit of your case before writing any code.

  2. Do you work with both startups and established companies?

Yes. We support startups from MVP validation to a product they can show in a funding round, and established companies on tokenization, traceability and digital identity projects with strict compliance requirements. In every case, smart contracts go through tests and review before they reach mainnet.

  3. How do you work with Japanese companies?

In English and in direct contact with the people who design and build the product. We set meetings within your working day and keep decisions in writing, so the work keeps moving between one meeting and the next through shared documentation and a stable technical channel.

  4. How long does blockchain development take?

Timing depends on product complexity, integrations and the level of review needed. Before development we define scope, dependencies and deliverables for each phase, so you can decide what reaches production first and what waits for a second iteration. That way an MVP is never mistaken for a complete architecture.

  5. Which blockchain network is right for my project?

We do not choose a network because it is trending. For EVM projects we assess Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or Base on finality, costs, tooling, interoperability, custody and compliance, and we consider non-EVM networks when they fit better. The recommendation covers contracts, indexing, wallets and operations, and follows the product requirements and who will use it.
