We are your blockchain development company in Estonia

We build blockchain products for companies in Estonia with our in-house team, starting from MiCA and the Estonian crypto-asset markets act, now that the former FIU licence is no longer enough to operate.

Blockchain development in Estonia, from idea to production

We turn your use case into a product that can be launched, operated and extended. A single team designs the architecture, writes the contracts and integrates them with your systems.

Tell us what you want to build
  1. The Estonian framework, from the architecture

We design for Finantsinspektsioon's CASP authorisation, not the former FIU licence. We also separate services from issuance: an EMT requires a credit or e-money institution, and a tokenized security follows the Securities Market Act.

  2. Smart contracts ready for review

We build your business logic with tests and peer review, and prepare the code for an external audit and a staged deployment before it reaches production.

  3. In English, on your schedule

You work in English, or in Spanish if your team prefers, with the people who design and write the code. Meetings fit into your working day in Tallinn, and the rest lives in shared documentation and a stable technical channel.

  4. A foundation that keeps evolving

We document the code and plan deployments and monitoring, so your team can maintain the product and add features on a foundation it understands.

Use cases

Blockchain use cases in Estonia

Cases that build on the digital infrastructure Estonia already runs, from e-Residency to the platform that holds the data from every electricity meter.

  • Digital identity card beside its reader on a wooden desk in a Tallinn office, e-resident companies with blockchain in Estonia

    E-resident companies

Since 2014, e-Residency has given a state-issued digital identity to sign and start companies online; e-residents have founded over 44,000, and the members register uses that signature.

  • Family doctor seen from behind in a bright Tallinn consulting room with an examination couch and a window onto the courtyard, health record access with blockchain in Estonia

    Health record access

Estonia's electronic health record integrates data from healthcare providers and covers 100% of patients; the record stamps each access with a hash, keeping clinical data off-chain.

    Blockchain for Digital Health
  • Technician seen from behind checking a row of electricity meters in the entrance of a Tallinn wooden apartment building, electricity meter data with blockchain in Estonia

    Electricity meter data

Since November 2024, Elering's Estfeed Datahub has managed the exchange of metering data, and each consumer can share their own; the record keeps every permission granted.

    Blockchain for Energy & Sustainability
  • Glass office buildings in Tallinn's Rotermann quarter with pedestrians seen from behind, tokenized securities with blockchain in Estonia

    Tokenized securities

A token that is a financial instrument falls outside MiCA and follows the Securities Market Act; the contract applies the security's transfer restrictions and the right against the issuer.

Blockchain regulatory framework in Estonia

In Estonia, MiCA applies alongside the Market in Crypto-Assets Act, in force since July 2024, with Finantsinspektsioon as the authorising and supervisory authority and the FIU handling financial intelligence. Since 1 July 2026 the former FIU licence is not enough to operate, and a pending application does not allow contracts with new clients. CASP applications go through the supervisor's portal, and a token that is a financial instrument is assessed under the Securities Market Act.

Security

Security in blockchain development in Estonia

Every delivery goes through the same checklist before it reaches mainnet. What changes between projects is the depth of each control, because an MVP does not carry the same risk as a contract that holds third-party funds.

Before mainnet

  • Roles and permissions defined for every critical function
  • Unit and invariant tests, and fuzzing on the logic that moves value
  • Static analysis and peer review of every change
  • Multisig and timelock on administration when the risk justifies it
  • Custody and rotation of the deployment keys agreed
  • External audit when the value at risk requires it

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about blockchain development in Estonia

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Which regulations apply to a blockchain project in Estonia?

MiCA and the Market in Crypto-Assets Act govern crypto-asset issuance and services: providing services requires CASP authorisation from Finantsinspektsioon or, for certain financial entities, the Article 60 route, and ART or EMT issuance has its own procedure. Applications go through the supervisor's portal in Estonian, flagging any annexes in English. AML obligations also apply and, if the token is a financial instrument, so does the Securities Market Act. We analyse the fit of your case before writing any code.

  2. Do you work with both startups and established companies?

Yes. We support startups from MVP validation to a product they can show in a funding round, and established companies on tokenization, traceability and digital identity projects with strict compliance requirements. In every case, smart contracts go through tests and review before they reach mainnet.

  3. How do you work with Estonian companies?

In English or Spanish, in direct contact with the people who design and build the product. Meetings are set within your working day. Shared documentation, written decisions and a stable technical channel keep the work moving.

  4. How long does blockchain development take?

The timeline depends on product complexity, integrations and the level of review required. Before development we define the scope, dependencies and deliverables of each phase, so you can decide what reaches production first and what waits for a second iteration. That way an MVP is never mistaken for a complete architecture.

  5. Which blockchain network is right for my project?

We do not choose the network by trend. For EVM projects we assess Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or Base on finality, costs, tooling, interoperability, custody and compliance, and we consider non-EVM networks when they fit better. The recommendation covers contracts, indexing, wallets and operations, and comes from the product requirements and who will use it.
