We are your blockchain development company in Panama

We build blockchain products for companies in Panama with our in-house team, analysing each model activity by activity, because Panama has no comprehensive virtual asset law and an SMV opinion is not a licence.

Blockchain development in Panama, from idea to production

We turn your use case into a product you can launch, operate and grow. The same team designs the architecture, writes the contracts and integrates them with your systems.

Tell us what you want to build
  1. The Panamanian framework, from the architecture

Without a comprehensive virtual asset law, the perimeter depends on the operator's real powers: access to keys, changes to contracts and receipt of funds. We document them before choosing a network and compare them with what the SMV has examined.

  2. Smart contracts ready for review

We build your business logic with tests and peer review, and prepare the code for an external audit and a gradual deployment before it runs in production.

  3. In Spanish and on your schedule

You work in Spanish with the people who design and write the code. Meetings are set within your working day, and the rest moves forward through shared documentation and a stable technical channel.

  4. A foundation ready to grow

We document the code and plan deployments and monitoring. Your team receives a technical foundation for maintaining the product and adding features.

Use cases

Blockchain use cases in Panama

Cases that start from what Panama already records, from every movement of goods in the Colón Free Zone to the booking of every Canal transit.

  • Aisle of a Colón Free Zone warehouse with pallets of wrapped boxes and a forklift, Free Zone re-exports with blockchain in Panama

    Free Zone re-exports

The Colón Free Zone moved 22,615 million balboas in 2025, according to preliminary INEC data, and every movement is declared in its electronic system, connected to Customs.

  • Container ship entering the Agua Clara locks of the Panama Canal among tropical vegetation, Canal transit slots with blockchain in Panama

    Canal transit slots

At the Panama Canal, a confirmed booking is the only mechanism that guarantees a transit date, and some slots are awarded by auction; each slot keeps its history.

  • Coffee grower seen from behind among shade-grown coffee plants on a mountain farm in Capira, deforestation-free coffee with blockchain in Panama

    Deforestation-free coffee

An EU project with MIDA is georeferencing coffee farms in Capira and Chagres for a deforestation-free supply chain; each sack is linked to its georeferenced plot.

    Blockchain for Agribusiness
  • Residential towers on the bay of Panama City seen from the Cinta Costera at sunset, real estate shares with blockchain in Panama

    Real estate shares

A property in Panama may require a deed and registration to be transferred; the token grants a right against the issuer, and the on-chain record sits alongside those formalities.

Blockchain regulatory framework in Panama

Panama has no comprehensive virtual asset law: Bill 697 of 2021 was declared unenforceable in 2023, and there is no general virtual asset service provider licence. The analysis goes activity by activity. In its Opinion 04-2025 the SMV concluded that a specific non-custodial model needed no licence, which does not extend to any platform, and securities intermediation in or from Panama requires a broker-dealer or investment adviser licence.

Security

Security in blockchain development in Panama

Every delivery goes through the same checklist before it reaches mainnet. What changes between projects is the depth of each control, because an MVP does not carry the same risk as a contract that holds third-party funds.

Before mainnet

  • Roles and permissions defined for every critical function
  • Unit and invariant tests, and fuzzing on the logic that moves value
  • Static analysis and peer review of every change
  • Multisig and timelock on administration when the risk justifies it
  • Custody and rotation of the deployment keys agreed
  • External audit when the value at risk requires it

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about blockchain development in Panama

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Which regulations apply to a blockchain project in Panama?

There is no general licence for virtual asset providers, so each function is assessed under its own regime. The SMV regulates securities: acting as an intermediary in or from Panama requires a licence, even if investors are abroad. Its Opinion 04-2025 placed a specific non-custodial model outside its remit, not any platform, and banks and trust companies answer to the SBP, including on anti-money laundering. We analyse the fit of your case before writing code.

  2. Do you work with both startups and established companies?

Yes. We support startups from MVP validation to their first funding round, and established companies on tokenization, traceability and digital identity projects with strict compliance requirements. Smart contracts go through tests and review before reaching mainnet on every project.

  3. How do you work with Panamanian companies?

In Spanish and in direct contact with the people who design and build the product. Meetings are called during your business hours; the rest of the work moves forward through shared documentation, written decisions and a stable technical channel.

  4. How long does blockchain development take?

It depends on product complexity, integrations and the level of review. Before development we agree scope, dependencies and phase deliverables. That way you decide what reaches production first and what waits for a second iteration, without mistaking an MVP for the complete architecture.

  5. Which blockchain network is right for my project?

The one that fits the product requirements, not the most talked about. For EVM projects we compare Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or Base on finality, costs, tooling, interoperability, custody and compliance, and we consider non-EVM networks when they fit better. The recommendation covers contracts, indexing, wallets and operations, with the product's users in mind.
