We are your blockchain development company in Guatemala

We build blockchain products for companies in Guatemala with our in-house team, separating from the design stage the preventive registration with the IVE required by Decree 15-2026 from the permits the product itself needs.

Blockchain development in Guatemala, from idea to production

We turn your use case into a product you can launch, operate and expand. The same team designs the architecture, writes the contracts and integrates them with your systems.

  1. The Guatemalan framework, from the architecture

Before choosing a network we define who controls the keys, who moves assets for others and who deals with clients. That split decides whether someone is a VASP under Decree 15-2026 and whether the token enters the securities register.

  2. Smart contracts ready to audit

We code your business logic with tests and peer review. The code is ready for an external audit and a gradual deployment before it runs in production.

  3. In Spanish and on your schedule

You work in Spanish with the people who design and write the code. Meetings are placed in your working hours in Guatemala, and the rest moves forward in writing, through shared documentation and a stable technical channel.

  4. A foundation ready to grow

We document the code and plan deployments and monitoring. Your team inherits a technical foundation for maintaining the product and adding features.

Use cases

Blockchain use cases in Guatemala

Guatemala already keeps the records these cases start from: the CITES permit for its timber, the registration of its movable collateral or the file for a securities offering.

  • Green cardamom pods drying on a concrete patio beside jute sacks, export cardamom with blockchain in Guatemala

    Export cardamom

Guatemala is the world's leading cardamom exporter, grown by family farms; every sack linked to its plot, to the drying and to the lot that leaves the country.

  • Reddish mahogany planks stacked at a sawmill beside the Petén forest, CITES-permitted mahogany with blockchain in Guatemala

    CITES-permitted mahogany

Mahogany is listed in CITES Appendix II: its sawn wood can only be exported with a prior permit; every plank linked to its source tree and to that permit.

  • Sugar mill warehouse with sacks of sugar stacked to the roof, inventory as collateral with blockchain in Guatemala

    Inventory as collateral

Decree 51-2007 perfects a security interest over inventory with a single filing in the Movable Collateral Registry; on-chain, warehouse inflows and outflows are tracked.

  • Office and residential building in Guatemala City with a volcano in the background, registered real estate securities with blockchain in Guatemala

    Registered real estate securities

Shares in a building's vehicle offered on an exchange: the RMVM requires the exchange's resolution, a legal opinion and a prospectus, and the token reflects that right.

Blockchain regulatory framework in Guatemala

Since 17 September 2026, Decree 15-2026 has listed virtual asset service providers among the persons subject to AML rules, registering with the Superintendency of Banks through the IVE. That registration does not replace licences or prejudge the legality of the business, and its implementing regulation is still pending. If the token is a security, the offering goes through the Securities and Commodities Market Register.

Security

Security in blockchain development in Guatemala

Every delivery goes through the same checklist before it reaches mainnet. What changes between projects is the depth of each control, because an MVP does not carry the same risk as a contract that holds third-party funds.

Before mainnet

  • Roles and permissions defined for every critical function
  • Unit and invariant tests, and fuzzing on the logic that moves value
  • Static analysis and peer review of every change
  • Multisig and timelock on administration when the risk justifies it
  • Custody and rotation of the deployment keys agreed
  • External audit when the value at risk requires it

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about blockchain development in Guatemala

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Which regulations apply to a blockchain project in Guatemala?

Anyone regularly providing exchange, transfer or custody of virtual assets for others is an obliged person under Decree 15-2026 and registers with the SIB through the IVE; article 5 makes clear this does not exempt them from other licences. If the instrument grants ownership, credit or participation rights, the Securities and Commodities Market Law, Decree 34-96, comes in. Coding on a network does not make anyone a VASP. We analyse the fit of your case before writing any code.

  2. Do you work with both startups and established companies?

Yes. We support startups from MVP validation to their first funding round, and established companies on tokenization, traceability and digital identity projects with strict compliance requirements. Smart contracts always go through tests and review before they reach mainnet.

  3. How do you work with Guatemalan companies?

In Spanish and in direct contact with the people who design and build the product. Meetings are concentrated in your working day, and the rest of the work moves forward through shared documentation, written decisions and a stable technical channel.

  4. How long does blockchain development take?

It depends on product complexity, how many integrations it needs and the level of review. Before development we agree scope, dependencies and phase deliverables, so you can decide what reaches production first and what waits for a second iteration, without treating an MVP as if it were the complete architecture.

  5. Which blockchain network is right for my project?

The one that fits the product requirements, not the one in fashion. For EVM projects we compare Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or Base on finality, costs, tooling, interoperability, custody and compliance, and we consider non-EVM networks when they fit better. The recommendation covers contracts, indexing, wallets and operations, with the product's users in mind.
