Physical product tokenization. One identity per unit.

Physical product tokenization gives every unit a digital certificate, tied to its physical identifier, with its origin and history. We custom-build your brand's platform to verify authenticity, manage warranties and record repairs and resales, and the history passes from one owner to the next.

Why now

Why tokenize physical products now?

The European Commission opened the digital product passport registry on July 20, 2026, and from February 18, 2027, EV, light means of transport and industrial batteries above 2 kWh will need a passport. A brand that designs each unit's identity now can reuse it for authenticity, warranty and resale.

Platform

Product certificates, warranties and resale in one platform

A product changes hands, workshops and countries over the years. We custom-build the platform that keeps its identity and history, from the factory to resale.

  • Identifier per unit

Serial number, NFC or QR linked to the certificate. Brand signatures and physical controls help detect clones and substitutions.

  • Digital record for each product

Origin, materials and unit history, with public or restricted access according to the data and defined permissions.

  • Certificate of authenticity

Any buyer can verify the item from a phone without a wallet, using the brand's signature and the verification history.

  • Warranty and after-sales

Activation of the brand's commercial warranty for the first owner, with authorized repairs recorded against the unit.

  • Traceable resale

The certificate passes to the new owner on every resale, with the active warranty and service history included.

  • Brand console

Custom console to register series, flag compromised certificates and manage workshops and incidents for each unit.

Institutional custody, integrated

We integrate custody and key management providers through their APIs, including Fireblocks, BitGo, Coinbase Prime, Anchorage Digital, Copper and Ledger Enterprise. Depending on the provider and model, keys are managed with MPC or multisig so that none depends on a single device. If the token is a security, custody on behalf of clients is provided by an authorized entity.

Structure

Product certificate, service entitlement or investment

Almost always a record of authenticity or warranty, not an investment. The token proves a unit's origin and history or unlocks its services, and it only carries an economic right when the legal structure expressly creates one.

CriterionCertificate of authenticityWarranty and serviceEconomic interest
What the holder receivesVerifiable proof of the unit's origin and historyA right to warranty, repairs or brand servicesAn economic right over an item in custody, usually shares in the company that owns it

LifecycleThe product's useful lifeThe term of the warranty or serviceUntil the item is sold or the agreed exit
When we recommend itLuxury, design and products with active resaleElectronics, machinery and goods that need servicingHigh-value items in custody, such as watches or wine

We separate product identity, owner identity and economic rights so a resale does not break traceability. If the token is a certificate, the platform promises neither ownership nor returns.

Methodology

How we tokenize physical products, step by step

A certificate of authenticity, a digital warranty or, for high-value items, an economic right follows four phases. Most brand projects are not investments, which is why the first step is defining what the token proves and who issues it.

  1. We study the product, its supply chain, its physical identifier and what the token is for, and define what it represents, a certificate of authenticity, a warranty or service entitlement, or an economic right over items in custody. The output is the design of each unit's record.

  2. A certificate or warranty is reviewed against consumer law, data protection and, where relevant, digital product passport requirements. If the token carries an economic right, the law firm classifies it as an investment, assesses whether the vehicle is a collective investment undertaking and sets the offering route.

  3. The white label platform provides the brand and domain, KYC onboarding when needed, the custodial wallet and the console. Per-unit NFC or QR identifiers, ERC-721 contracts, service history and traceable resale are custom-built.

  4. Buyers activate their certificate when they receive the product and pass it on with the item at each resale, and we measure how many activate it. For items with an economic right, the sale only reaches the investors the offering allows.

Assets

Which physical products can be tokenized?

Any product with a serial number, an identifier that is hard to clone and a brand that stands behind the data. The unit's value decides how much security the physical link needs.

  1. Watches and jewelry

High-value pieces where authenticity sets the resale price.

  2. Fashion and leather goods

Bags, footwear and apparel with material origin and active resale.

  3. Electronics

Devices with warranty, repairs and repairability data for each unit.

  4. Batteries

EV, light means of transport and industrial batteries above 2 kWh.

  5. Machinery and equipment

Equipment with servicing, operating hours and ownership changes recorded.

  6. Wine and premium spirits

Bottles and vintages with provenance, storage and anti-refill closures.

Regulation

Which regulation applies to physical product tokenization?

Check the regulation by country

The one that matches what the token is used for. A certificate of authenticity or warranty follows product and consumer rules, and only a right sold as an investment falls under financial regulation.

The first deliverable settles, with your team and law firm, each unit's physical identifier, the data its category requires, personal data handling and what the token promises.

The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 creates the digital product passport, and its delegated acts set data and deadlines for each category. Batteries come first, under the Batteries Regulation (EU) 2023/1542. The architecture must support public, restricted and authority-only information.

A unique token that only certifies generally falls outside MiCA, which excludes unique, non-fungible tokens. The legal guarantee follows consumer law, and the owner's personal data stays off-chain. If the token carries an economic right, a separate financial analysis is needed.

FAQ

Physical product tokenization FAQ

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Does an NFT guarantee that a product is authentic?

Not by itself. Authenticity depends on the brand issuing the record, a physical identifier that is hard to clone and controls against substitution. The token preserves that evidence and its history, but it cannot detect a fake item that received a legitimate identifier.

  2. Is this the same as the EU Digital Product Passport?

Not necessarily. The digital product passport is a requirement of Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, with data, access and interoperability set for each category, and it does not require a token. A brand certificate can use the same technology and meet those requirements if it is designed for them from the start.

  3. Does the token turn the product into an investment?

No. In this model the token proves authenticity, history or warranty, and it promises no appreciation or income. Only when the legal structure creates an economic right over an item in custody does it become an investment product, with its own regulation.

  4. Does the buyer need a wallet?

No. The platform can create an embedded, recoverable wallet behind a conventional account, and authenticity checks work from a phone without signing up. Self-custody remains an option for owners who want to take the certificate to another platform.

  5. How much does it cost to tokenize a product line?

It depends on the number of units, the physical identifier and the data the category requires. A limited edition of watches is not the same as passports for thousands of batteries. With the feasibility analysis we give you the scope and a phased budget.
