We are your blockchain development company in the United Kingdom

We build blockchain products for companies in the United Kingdom with our in-house team, starting from a framework that is not MiCA: FCA AML registration today and a cryptoasset authorisation regime that will apply from October 2027.

Blockchain development in the United Kingdom, from idea to production

We take your use case to a product you can launch, operate and extend. One team designs the architecture, writes the contracts and connects them to your systems.

Tell us what you want to build
  1. The UK framework, from the architecture

The UK does not apply MiCA. We separate what already binds you (FCA AML registration, financial promotions, FSMA permissions if the token is a regulated investment) from what the 2027 authorisation will require, which shapes custody, permissions and records.

  2. Smart contracts prepared for audit

We write your business logic with tests and peer review, document every contract for an external audit and deploy it in stages before it runs in production.

  3. In English, within your working day

You work in English, or in Spanish if your team prefers, with the people who design and write the code. We set meetings within your business hours, and the rest moves forward through shared documentation and a stable technical channel.

  4. A foundation that can keep growing

We hand over documented code with deployments and monitoring planned, so your team can maintain the product and add features on a foundation it understands.

Use cases

Blockchain use cases in the United Kingdom

Cases that build on specific UK rules, from the law that recognises electronic bills of lading to the registration of art market participants.

  • Stone wall of the Bank of England on Threadneedle Street in the early morning, with pedestrians seen from behind, digital gilt with blockchain in the United Kingdom

    Digital gilt

HM Treasury will issue DIGIT, a short-dated digital gilt, within the Digital Securities Sandbox on the HSBC Orion platform; the first transaction is expected by the first quarter of 2027.

  • A cooper rolling an oak cask outside a stone whisky warehouse on the shore of a Scottish loch, Scotch whisky cask traceability with blockchain in the United Kingdom

    Scotch whisky casks

Scotch whisky matures for at least three years in oak casks, only in Scotland and in an excise warehouse or permitted place; the record follows each cask, its distillery and its warehouse.

  • Gantry cranes loading containers onto a ship at the Port of Felixstowe, electronic bills of lading with blockchain in the United Kingdom

    Electronic bills of lading

Since September 2023, the Electronic Trade Documents Act has recognised electronic bills of lading when a reliable system prevents copies and ensures one person controls each document.

  • Handler in white gloves lifting a gilt-framed painting in a London auction house storeroom, artwork provenance with blockchain in the United Kingdom

    Artwork provenance

Anyone trading works of art for £10,000 or more must register with HMRC for anti-money laundering supervision; the record links each work to its provenance and the checks behind each sale.

Blockchain regulatory framework in the United Kingdom

The UK does not apply MiCA. Today, cryptoasset exchange and custody require AML registration with the FCA, cryptoasset promotions follow their own rules, and a token that is a regulated investment falls within the FSMA perimeter. The Cryptoassets Regulations 2026 create an authorisation whose general application will begin on 25 October 2027; the FCA opened applications on 30 September 2026, and AML registration does not turn into that permission on its own.

Security

Security in blockchain development in United Kingdom

Every delivery goes through the same checklist before it reaches mainnet. What changes between projects is the depth of each control, because an MVP does not carry the same risk as a contract that holds third-party funds.

Before mainnet

  • Roles and permissions defined for every critical function
  • Unit and invariant tests, and fuzzing on the logic that moves value
  • Static analysis and peer review of every change
  • Multisig and timelock on administration when the risk justifies it
  • Custody and rotation of the deployment keys agreed
  • External audit when the value at risk requires it

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about blockchain development in United Kingdom

What we are asked before a project starts.

Talk to our team
  1. Which regulations apply to a blockchain project in the United Kingdom?

It depends on the activity and the token. Cryptoasset exchange and custody require FCA registration under the Money Laundering Regulations; marketing the product to UK consumers falls under the financial promotions regime, even when the provider is abroad, and a token that is a regulated investment needs FSMA permissions. The cryptoasset regime that will apply from October 2027 requires a new authorisation. We analyse the fit of your case before writing any code.

  2. Do you work with both startups and established companies?

Yes. With startups we work from MVP validation to a product they can present in a funding round; with established companies, on tokenization, traceability and digital identity projects with demanding compliance requirements. Either way, smart contracts go through tests and review before they reach mainnet.

  3. How do you work with UK companies?

In English or Spanish, in direct contact with the people who design and build the product. Meetings fit into your working day. Shared documentation, written decisions and a stable technical channel keep the work organised.

  4. How long does blockchain development take?

It depends on product complexity, the integrations with your systems and the level of review required. Before development we set the scope, dependencies and deliverables of each phase, so you can decide what reaches production first and what waits for a second iteration. From the start, the plan separates an MVP from a complete architecture.

  5. Which blockchain network is right for my project?

The one your product requirements call for. For EVM projects we compare Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or Base on finality, costs, tooling, interoperability, custody and compliance, and we consider non-EVM networks when they fit better. The recommendation covers contracts, indexing, wallets and operations, and takes into account who will use the product.
