T-REX is the reference implementation of the ERC-3643 standard, and the two should not be conflated: ERC-3643 is the interface specification, while T-REX is the concrete contract suite that puts it into practice. A transfer executes only if the investor rules and the offering rules are both satisfied. To do that, the token (which remains ERC-20 compatible) queries, before each movement, the Identity Registry, which holds eligible addresses and verifies their claims, and the modular Compliance contract, which validates holder limits, country restrictions or maximum ownership through pluggable modules. Each user's identity lives in an ONCHAINID contract holding keys and signed attestations.
T-REX moves compliance (KYC/AML, jurisdictional restrictions, authorized-investor lists) into the token itself, which enforces it automatically on every transfer with no manual check and without losing ERC-20 compatibility. It also adds agent roles for mint, burn, account freezing and forced transfer, functions a regulated issuer needs to recover assets or honor a court order.
It was built by Tokeny Solutions, a Luxembourg-based company, with Joachim Lebrun as lead creator, under the GNU GPL v3.0 license and with an audit by Hacken cited in the repository. The original repository (TokenySolutions/T-REX) was archived on 28 October 2025, and development moved to the ERC-3643 organization on GitHub. Adoption is coordinated by the ERC3643 Association, an industry consortium that drives the standard and its interoperability work.
Technical rules apply configured conditions. Asset classification, customer identification and other external obligations are not resolved by the contract.
