A contract may release amounts by date and require a claim. Beneficiary, revocability and schedule-change permissions require checking.
A schedule can release tokens gradually from a starting date or after a cliff. The contract determines beneficiary, amount, dates and claim procedure. Some implementations permit revocation or changes; others fix conditions at deployment.
Vesting is used in allocations to teams, investors or contributors. It reduces immediate availability of an allocation but does not guarantee alignment or price stability. Documentation should distinguish promised, deposited and actually released tokens.
