ERC-7575, officially titled Multi-Asset ERC-4626 Vaults, was created on 11 December 2023 and has Final status. It requires ERC-20, ERC-165, ERC-2771 and ERC-4626. The base ERC-4626 standard requires the vault itself to also be the ERC-20 share token, meaning the share must equal the contract address. That restriction prevents modeling a single share backed by several input assets, as happens with LP tokens.
The contribution of ERC-7575 is to externalize the ERC-20 implementation. It adds a share method to the vault that lets the share token be a different address from the vault itself. This way, several vaults, one per input asset, can point to a single external share contract. The standard relies on ERC-165 for interface detection and references ERC-2771 for meta-transactions among its dependencies.
It allows building richer DeFi structures, with multiple tokens, LP tokens or conversion between arbitrary external assets, while staying compatible with the tooling ecosystem that already understands ERC-4626. The standard grew out of multi-asset vault needs in the Centrifuge environment, since its authors include Jeroen Offerijns and Alina Sinelnikova, both tied to that project. The obvious contrast is with ERC-4626, which offers a single asset and internal share, versus the multi-asset and external share of 7575.
