Metlabs shares its entrepreneurship experience at BlockGalicia 2024
Pablo Gómez joined Enrique Marcote, Uxío Fraga and Manuel Piñeiro Otero on the “Entrepreneurship in Galicia in the digital age” panel in A Coruña.

Metlabs took part in BlockGalicia 2024, held on September 13 and 14 at Palexco in A Coruña. Pablo Gómez, the company’s CEO and founder, joined a roundtable on the challenges of starting a business in Galicia and building a technology company with international reach.
The event brought professionals working with blockchain and Web3 together in the city. Its organisation included support from Agalbit, the Galician Blockchain and IoT Association, and DEXTools, providing a setting for professionals working in technology and entrepreneurship to exchange their experiences.
Building a business from Galicia
The panel “Entrepreneurship in Galicia in the digital age” brought Gómez together with Enrique Marcote, Uxío Fraga and Manuel Piñeiro Otero. The discussion covered the challenges and opportunities of creating a company in the region, with local talent and international activity forming part of the conversation.
Gómez shared his experience leading Metlabs, a company focused on blockchain development and asset tokenization. His contribution connected the company’s development with the decisions involved in turning technical knowledge into projects for clients, drawing on its own experience of working in the sector.

Taking part provided an opportunity to explain that activity from the perspective of a business headquartered in A Coruña. The discussion placed technology entrepreneurship within its working context: building a team, developing capabilities and responding to requirements that can come from other markets.
From technical knowledge to projects
Metlabs’ contribution related to developing Web3 solutions and representing assets digitally. In that work, technical development starts with understanding what a project requires and how the product used by businesses and their users needs to function.
This relationship between technology and business activity helps explain the company’s approach. Tokenization involves coordinating the definition of a use case with systems that record operations and allow them to be managed. Development therefore forms part of a wider business decision, shaped by the intended purpose of the product.
The BlockGalicia panel made room for that perspective alongside other entrepreneurial experiences. Sharing them at a local event introduced the audience to different paths within Galicia’s technology business community, with Metlabs contributing its own experience from blockchain development.
A contribution rooted in A Coruña
BlockGalicia gave Metlabs an opportunity to share its development in the city from which it operates. Gómez brought a business example to the discussion of innovation and entrepreneurship in Galicia.
The company continues to work from A Coruña on asset tokenization and blockchain development projects for businesses. That activity provided the starting point for its contribution to the panel.
