Metlabs joins two panels on digital assets and Web3 at World Chain 2140
Pablo Gómez and Isaac González joined discussions in Zaragoza on digital asset protection, custody and the role of Web3 in the evolution of the internet.

Metlabs took part in World Chain 2140 on April 15, 2026, at the Teatro de las Esquinas in Zaragoza. Pablo Gómez, the company’s CEO and founder, and Isaac González, Head of Innovation, joined two panels covering digital asset protection and the evolution of the internet.
The event focused its programme on blockchain infrastructure, security, custody and business adoption. Metlabs contributed experience from developing systems for asset tokenization and explored how those systems relate to the decisions made by users and organisations. Its two representatives addressed different parts of that discussion.
Asset protection and responsibilities
Gómez joined the Inversión Racional podcast panel, moderated by Luis Miguel Ortiz. He spoke alongside Cris Carrascosa from ATH21, Javier Pastor from Bit2Me and cybersecurity specialist Pachi Rodríguez. The panel brought together legal, custody and technical development perspectives on protecting digital assets.
Metlabs’ contribution focused on understanding what is being acquired: who issues an asset, which rights it carries and what infrastructure supports its operations. Gómez connected those questions with reviewing code and product design, as well as identifying the parties responsible for the way a system works.

The conversation also addressed custody. The discussion distinguished between managing keys directly and using third-party services, two approaches with different responsibilities. In a business project, that choice needs to reflect the intended use and the requirements of the people and organisations taking part.
This approach connected security with the asset’s conditions and operating model. Metlabs focused on understanding those conditions before assessing a technical solution, avoiding the assumption that all digital products offer the same rights or protection mechanisms. The discussion therefore considered the product and its infrastructure together.
Web3 and the evolution of the internet
Isaac González joined the panel “Is Web3 the evolution of the internet?”, moderated by Levon Ordyan from Blocklack. Other participants included Carlos Callejo from Hyxora, Ignacio Montoya from CTrading and Miguel Caballero from Tutellus.
The session explored the role of blockchain infrastructure in the development of digital services. González brought Metlabs’ technical perspective to the conversation, complementing the earlier discussion of assets, custody and responsibilities with a wider view of the systems used to build those services.

Two perspectives from development
The two sessions placed Metlabs’ work within related areas: building systems that record operations and understanding how those systems fit into products used by businesses and individuals.
World Chain 2140 provided a setting to share that experience with professionals from different parts of the industry. Metlabs addresses these decisions through its blockchain consulting work, where analysis of the use case precedes the design and development of the infrastructure.
