Metlabs joins the tokenization discussion at the 5th Galicia Finance Date
Pablo Gómez and Isaac González shared Metlabs’ perspective on financial infrastructure and tokenization at APD’s event in Santiago de Compostela.

Metlabs took part in the 5th Galicia Finance Date on April 28, 2026, at the Hotel Oca Puerta del Camino in Santiago de Compostela. Pablo Gómez, the company’s CEO and founder, and Isaac González, Head of Innovation, contributed to a conversation about asset tokenization and financial markets.
Organised by APD, the event brought together financial executives, banking representatives, fund managers, law firms and organisations from Galicia’s business community. Miguel Corgos, the regional government’s minister for finance and public administration, delivered the closing remarks.
A conversation with the financial sector
Metlabs’ session explored how blockchain technology is changing the infrastructure used to represent and transfer assets. Gómez shared the company’s perspective, while González moderated the discussion and connected the technical possibilities with questions relevant to a financial audience.
The programme also included representatives of Caixa Rural Galega, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, Kaudal, Xesgalicia, Internaco, Unirisco and Gradiant. Their contributions placed tokenization within a broader agenda covering financing, investment and business innovation, alongside the operational decisions facing companies in the region.

What changes when an asset is represented by tokens
Gómez approached tokenization as an infrastructure question: how a right is issued, recorded and transferred, and which systems make those operations possible. From that perspective, the business value lies in how the product functions and the conditions under which it can be used.
The conversation also addressed the role of institutional participants in adopting the technology. For Metlabs, working with businesses and financial institutions means connecting product design with the processes their teams already use and the requirements of the issuer.
That approach moves the discussion towards practical implementation decisions. The digital representation of an asset needs to reflect its intended use, the operations it requires and the people responsible for managing it. These questions provide a starting point for assessing a project before choosing its technical components.

Technical design and issuance requirements
Another theme was the relationship between development and legal requirements. Recording operations is one part of a project: the holder’s rights and the conditions of an issuance need to be defined according to the asset and the applicable framework.
González moderated a discussion that brought those perspectives together. Metlabs’ consulting and development experience helped explain why a tokenization initiative needs to coordinate product, infrastructure and operational decisions from the outset, with responsibilities understood by the teams involved.

Taking part in Galicia Finance Date brought that experience to professionals responsible for financing and investment decisions. The event placed asset tokenization within the context of the business projects and requirements discussed throughout the day.
