Metlabs and Onyze connect technology and custody for issuances in Spain
The collaboration brings Onyze’s custody infrastructure into Metlabs’ development of tokenized issuances in Spain, connecting the issuer’s platform with wallet and private key management.

Metlabs and Onyze agreed in April 2026 to collaborate on the development of tokenized issuances in Spain. The relationship connects Metlabs’ blockchain engineering with Onyze’s custody services to address an essential part of these projects: managing the wallets and private keys that enable participants to operate with digital assets.
The collaboration is intended for businesses that need to implement an issuance on an operational platform. Alongside the smart contract representing the instrument, a project must address how participants gain access, who authorises operations and which processes manage the means of controlling assets. Custody forms part of this design from the beginning of the project.
Onyze: custody infrastructure and wallets
Onyze develops digital asset custody services and infrastructure that businesses can integrate into their products. Its Crypto-as-a-Service model connects these services through an API, an interface linking applications. In the context of an issuance, this background contributes capabilities for managing wallets and private keys as part of the operating model defined for the project.
Keys enable operations involving assets to be authorised. Managing them requires access, authorisation and protection procedures that fit the platform’s intended use. Custody infrastructure addresses this operational layer and its connection to the application, while legal advice and registration of the instrument are handled by specialists in those respective areas of work.
Metlabs: the technology platform for the issuance
Metlabs develops the blockchain architecture, smart contracts and issuer applications. Its work connects the digital representation of the instrument with the subscription and administration processes that the project needs. Integrating custody services requires them to fit the permissions, operations and user experience defined for each issuance and for the participants using the platform.
Coordination between development and custody helps establish a coherent operating model from the outset. An operation initiated through the platform needs to follow the intended authorisation and execution procedures. The application, smart contracts and wallet services therefore need to be designed to work together, with clear responsibilities for the organisations involved throughout implementation and ongoing operation.
The agreement with Onyze brings custody capabilities into Metlabs’ work on tokenized issuances in Spain. For an issuer, this collaboration connects two project components that need to operate together: issuance technology and management of the means that allow participants to transact with assets throughout their lifecycle, rather than only at the point of initial creation.
