Metlabs hosts a Solana bootcamp in A Coruña
The event brought together developers and people interested in Web3 to explore Solana fundamentals, with support from Heavy Duty Builders, DEXTools and Agalbit.

Metlabs hosted a Solana bootcamp on February 27, 2025, at Hi Coruña in A Coruña. The event introduced developers and people interested in Web3 to the foundations of building on the network, combining practical learning with conversations among professionals from the ecosystem.
The activity was supported by Heavy Duty Builders, a developer community connected with Solana; DEXTools, a DeFi market analytics platform; and Agalbit, the Galician Blockchain and IoT Association. The event brought technical education and the local community together in one setting, with Metlabs responsible for organising the bootcamp.
An introduction to building on Solana
The bootcamp covered the foundations of Rust and Anchor and their relationship with creating smart contracts and decentralised applications. It placed those tools within the development process, introducing participants to the work behind a Web3 application and the components used to build it.
Rust is one of the languages used to develop programs on Solana. Anchor provides tools that help organise that work. Introducing both within the same activity connects the language with the environment used to build and test application components, giving learners a way to relate the different tools to each other.

The practical approach connected concepts with product development. Understanding how a program is organised and how an application interacts with the network forms part of the technical foundation for continuing to learn about the ecosystem.
Education and community in A Coruña
The bootcamp also provided a setting for professionals to meet. Support from Heavy Duty Builders, DEXTools and Agalbit brought together perspectives connected with development, market analytics and blockchain activity in Galicia, alongside the technical content of the event.
That context made the training relevant to people with different interests within Web3. Learning the tools is one part of a developer’s progress; sharing that learning with other professionals provides a setting in which to ask questions and compare approaches to the work.
Metlabs’ organisation of the event connects with its activity developing blockchain systems for businesses. The capabilities a project requires are built on technical knowledge and an understanding of the tools used in each development environment.
A starting point for further learning
The event focused on Solana fundamentals and practical applications. Its format brought that technical introduction together with the experience of a community working on the network and organisations connected with the local ecosystem.
