If a transaction enters a block and five blocks follow, it is normally described as having six confirmations on Bitcoin. The count includes its own block.
A reorganization can remove or replace recent blocks. Confirmations help assess that risk, but the appropriate count depends on amount, security model and network conditions.
Networks with explicit finality distinguish inclusion from finalization. Bitcoin conventions should not be transferred to another network without checking consensus.
