A rollup executes operations and produces a proof that the new state follows its rules. A base-layer contract verifies the proof before accepting that state under the system’s design.
Validity proofs do not necessarily conceal data. Many rollups publish information for state reconstruction without providing transaction privacy. Finality also depends on base-layer batch publication and verification.
Data availability, upgrade permissions, sequencer and bridge require assessment. Failures in those layers can affect operations even with a correct proving system.
