The mechanism works by having the parent DAO delegate operational responsibility to specialized SubDAOs, for example treasury, grants, technical development or specific markets, without the full set of tokenholders voting on every operational decision. SubDAOs decide quickly, with a small group of stakeholders and their own token, while remaining tied to the parent's governance. The analogy is a company that, as it grows, organizes into divisions.
The pattern eases governance overload, the fatigue of voting on everything in assembly, and isolates risk: a SubDAO's experimentation does not compromise the core. It lets an on-chain organization scale while keeping decentralization, instead of concentrating every decision in a single slow, low-participation voting process.
